St.Paul’s School Belagavi alumni to attempt for Guinness record for Largest school reunion

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” There is excitement and fear for anyone whose time it is to reunite with former classmates.  For some, it was a horror, others, their prime years. Realistically, I doubt many view high school as the best of times.

One of the Oldest schools in Belagavi, St.Paul’s school was founded by the Jesuits in 1856 in the erstwhile Camp area of Belagavi.

Now the Alumni of the school aims to get their names into the Guinness Book of Records for the largest Reunion Attempt on 17th December 2016.

The Alumni aims to gather as many as 3500 ex students who have passed out from the school on a single day event which will also be the School’s 160 years celebrations.
AN AWARENESS RALLY WILL BE ORGANIZED ON 23.10.2016 AND WILL KICK START FROM ST. PAULS AND WILL END AT CPED GROUND.
Past students and teachers both are trying their best to reach out the alumni so that they can reach that magical figure for the record and at the same time it would be meeting of old friends someone who has passed out in the early 1960’s as well to the latest bunch of pass outs from 2015 batch.
Speaking to AAB, Manoj Michael chief convener of the Paulites of Belgaum Worldwide said,
As this year completes 160 years for the school we all thought it fit to gather together and celebrate the essence of the school which has been inculcated in each Paulite.
The record may happen or may not happen but our aim is to gather and share those old high school memories.

Calling ALL Paulites Worldwide

IMPORTANT NOTICE
With less than 3 weeks to the Grand Reunion, things are getting pretty hectic now. We have now extended our early-bird registration to 24th Nov and all registrations after this date shall be at regular (not subsidized) rates. We had deliberately kept rates for early-bird registrations extremely low in order to garner attendance of maximum number of Paulites to come together and meet. You will appreciate that eleventh hour registrations will entail problems with logistics, catering , infrastructure, etc and will entail higher costs. Hence, we are constrained to revise the tariff for late registrations (Nov 25th onwards) to Rs 750 for Paulite, Rs 750 for spouse, Rs 500 for child and Rs 1000 for guest.

Registrations can be made at the following outlets:
  • St Paul's High School (during office hours)
  • Swamy's Bakery (Church Street)
  • Pai Foods (near Ramdev Hotel)
  • Car Point (Goaves)
  • Special Counter on Sundays between 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at St Paul's.
Pls rush to register ASAP in order to still avail early-bird rates (cut off date 24th Nov).

Payment Instructions

Payment Instructions

The organisers of PBW 2010 confirm the following:
  1. Registration / Attendance Fees:

Early-bird fees for the Grand Reunion, for which the cut-off date has been set at 10th November 2010, are as follows:
  • Rs 750 for Paulite
  • Rs 500 for spouse
  • Rs 150 per child
  • Rs 500 per guest

The above costs cover:
    • 2 light breakfasts (on 4th between 9:30 am - 10:30 am on St Paul's 'A' ground & on 5th between 8:00 am - 9:00 am at St Paul's school campus)
    • 2 lunches (between 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm on 4th & 5th at St Paul's school campus)
    • 1 dinner (between 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm on 4th at St Paul's school campus)

The registration fees actually cover mainly food expenses and only a very small portion of the infrastructure costs accompanying the event. While deliberately keeping the participation costs at a minimum in order to attract maximum attendance, we welcome revenues above this amount from generous Paulite donors to help in our Fund Raising endeavours.
Paulites fortunate to be doing well and at a comfortable stage in life may avail this God-sent opportunity by contributing generously to this cause, as the vision of the Paulites of Belgaum Worldwide goes beyond the Reunion into Community Outreach, committing us to the cause and welfare of present and past Paulites.
